Kid's Stuff

      Here at Lighthouse, kids really matter! We have a nursery for babies and toddlers during our worship service, and kids from Kindergarten on up are welcome to be part of the first half of our service, which involves a lot of fun singing. At the end of our singing, we have a special “Kids’ Moment” featuring object lessons and skits teaching a great truth. During the sermon time of services we have our “Club Lighthouse” program with loving teachers sharing the truths from the Bible in ways kids can understand and apply. It is our goal to help children come to know and love Jesus within the context of their family, and grow to be all God wants them to be.

Youth Redemption Posted on Nov 28 2011 by chris Once again, everyone had a good time at Youth Group. We started off with a difficult game of dropping clothes pins into bottles. The girls won, but we saw how tickets could be "redeemed" for candy. We then talked about how Christ "redeemed" us. Then we setup the Church Christmas Tree.

First youth lesson went great Posted on Nov 14 2011 by chris The first night went great! We started with Ali leading a game, then went to the back room for memory verses. We took about an hour for the actual lesson and wrap up. The kids were challenged to think of someone they have a hard time treating as a valued person made in God's image. Next week we will be askin how they implemented their specific step to treat them as such.

Fall Festival was a Great Success Posted on Oct 29 2011 by chris Everyone came inside out of the rain for the Fall Festival. There was fresh cotton candy being made, and kids of all ages had sticky hands and faces. After playing a game of cow-bowling, kids could dip and apple in caramel and put all sorts of wonderful condiments on them, like coconut, sprinkles, and chocolate chips. After playing penny toss, they could then munch on some popcorn or some baked goods. Everyone had plenty to eat, and plenty of fun. Hope to see you next year!
